About Franklin Díaz:

The Dominican Republic, an island of sweet rhythms and white sand beaches, is also the birthplace of Franklin Diaz. Franklin’s future was decided from the early age of 4.

Falling in love with movement and sound, he taught himself to dance. He is the product of a musical family composed of instrumentalists and vocalists, nurtured by music of his culture. His passion for dance and complex musical structures was further broadened and challenged with his exposure to Flamenco, an art form of Southern Spain associated with the Gypsies of Spain.

Franklin is well versed in various dance forms including Salsa, Afrocuban, Ballet, Modern and Flamenco. He creates a pelau, una ensalada, a salsa of unique flavours. He moves to music, transforming his body into an extraordinary instrument.
Franklin has been defined as a force of nature, “un mito”.

He has had the honour and pleasure of training under the watchful eyes of Jose Molina, Nelida Tirado, Jose Maya and Alfonso Losa (Flamenco), (Modern and Ballet at Alvin Ailey dance school), and Victor Pacheco and Eddie Torres (Salsa).

He has traveled the world, nationally and internationally sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Celia Cruz, Tito Puentes and Fania All Stars.

He signature performance style is sought after by promoters from China, to Argentina, to Tunis Africa to Morocco. As he receives accolades from peers, fans, dance enthusiasts and the general public, he continues to impress with his ever evolving style.

His respect for his craft, his talent and his blessings are strongly linked with his spiritual life.
He continues to foster his growth at every opportunity, always striving for excellence.

One hour dance lesson included. Arrive by 7:45pm to participate in the class lead by salsa pros from Santo Rico beginning at 8pm.

With dancing, mingling, and a cash bar throughout the night, this will definitely be an event you won’t want to miss.
Head up to The Balcony Orlando, a rooftop venue that floats 11 stories above the heart of downtown. Paid parking is available in the Plaza Garage off Church Street, but we recommend metered parking since it is free after 6pm.

Fallece el Productor Albert Torres

El mundo salsero y de la música en general le dice adiós al gran Albert Torres. La Familia de Albert Torres escribió un mensaje en su perfil en Facebook: “La familia de Albert Torres desea agradecer a toda nuestra familia salsera por sus pensamientos, oraciones y buenos deseos durante este tiempo difícil. Albert falleció hoy 25 de mayo de 2017, pacíficamente, rodeado de familia y los seres queridos. Encontramos tranquilos sabiendo que ahora está promoviendo y bailando junto a sus ídolos, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Cheo Feliciano, Tito Rodríguez y Ray Barreto. Así como de sus amigos Johnny Polanco, Rudy Regalado, Alicia y muchos otros. Nada nos encantaría más que que nos ayuden a mantener su legado y sueño de la unidad viva apoyando el gran acontecimiento que comenzó hace 19 años: el LA SALSA FEST.”

Albert Torres fue el principal productor mundial de eventos en vivo de Salsa y danza. Su pasión por la Salsa ha sido una inspiración para un sinnúmero de personas de todas las profesiones y sus continuos esfuerzos para globalizar la Salsa han hecho un gran impacto en la preservación y accesibilidad de la música Salsa y baile de Salsa alrededor del mundo. Fundada en 1992, Albert Torres Productions Inc. (ATP) ha creado y co-producido más trescientos cincuenta Salsa danza eventos espectaculares conocido como congresos de SALSA en exóticos lugares como; Dubai, Emiratos Árabes Unidos, Japón, Hong Kong, Brasil, Bulgaria, Rumania, China, Colombia, Venezuela, España, México, Perú, Holanda, Hamburgo, Italia, Suiza, Suecia, Francia, Ecuador, Nueva Zelanda, Australia, Puerto Rico y en la ciudad numerosos en toda América Albert Torres también co-produjo el Campeonato Mundial Salsa que fueron vistos en todo el mundo por ESPN.
